I’m so glad you’re here.

I’ve spent years advising some of the world’s leading companies on strategy, innovation, and reputation. I know what it takes to navigate high-altitude corporate sprints, sit in the rooms where major decisions are made, and build a standout career. I love ambition, drive, and the pursuit of excellence.

Now, I operate a strategic advisory, and I’m also a writer.

I know the quiet, heavy unhappiness that happens when you realize your career has completely swallowed your life or when your career doesn’t go as planned - or even when you just want to do something different.

I began to write because I wanted to explore what happens when we choose to live a bigger story. This isn't about walking away from your drive or starting an anti-corporate rebellion. It is a space designed to take back the narrative of your life, and expand your world far beyond the parameters of a job description or professional setback.

I know that there is more possibility than you can see from where you’re standing.

So, let’s go see what else is out there.

Hi. I’m Shai.

‍ ‍My Story

I’ve spent more than two decades as a lawyer, corporate executive, and strategist, helping people and organizations navigate difficult decisions and determine what comes next. Along the way, I studied music and fashion, changed industries, changed cities, and earned my MBA.

But behind the credentials, I’ve lived the real, unvarnished realities of the modern workplace. I know the frustration of corporate disappointments, the sting of getting passed over, and the disruption of layoffs. Most of all, I know what it’s like to realize you are pouring absolutely everything into a job, and not getting what you expected in return. Fortunately, I also know how exciting it can be to be in the right place at the right time.

I designed this space to help you discover different perspectives and a variety of paths in life. You never know what might spark when you step inside a samba factory in Brazil, meeting someone who successfully rewrote their professional path, learn how to make music, or spending the day with someone who does an ordinary thing extraordinarily well. I’m excited by the possibilities.

Things I Love Most

Loving and encouraging handwritten cards from my family.

Two people wearing traditional Japanese yukatas, smiling and taking a selfie indoors with wooden windows in the background.

Exploring the world with my husband Spencer (and finding inspiration for professional sabbaticals and wellness journeys).

Stacked crumpled paper towels or tissues with a soft texture, arranged with some overlapping each other.

Cozy throws, bed pillows and percale sheets.

Close-up view of chocolate chip cookies in a blue box with paper lining.

Nestle Tollhouse cookies I used to make with my mom.

A woman with curly hair wearing a sleeveless dress sitting at a wooden table, writing or reading a notebook, with a fan on a stand next to her, in a room with wooden wall paneling and a window with curtains.

Away retreats to reflect, write in my journal, and read.

A white clothes rack hanging from the ceiling with various clothing items such as shirts and dresses on wooden hangers, set against a plain white wall.

Designer fashion finds, dressing on a budget, & well made clothes.
